Tractor Trek Entry Form

Tractor Trek Parade - A Smithsonian Companion Event.

Saturday, Dec. 9th, 2023

Staging: 8:30 - 9:45am.  Parade begins at 10am.

Tractors and other motorized farm equipment are eligible for entry.


Please complete and return this form and signed waiver, by Friday, December 2, 2023, at the Trinidad Visitor Center at 210 West Main Street, Trinidad Colorado Entries received after December 2, 2023, may be denied.


Rules & Regulations


  1. Tractors and other Farm Vehicles Only. Vintage tractors may be trailered.

  2. Handouts: Each entry may have two “walkers” one on either side of the vehicle to pass out candy and other handouts to spectators.

  3. Drivers: All drivers must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

  4. Children: Children aged 12 and younger must be accompanied by a parent/adult on a ratio of 1 adult to child. 

  5. Check-In: All entries must check in no later than 30 minutes before the parade starts. Check-in will take place at the staging area.

  6. Staging Area: The staging area will be in the Amtrak parking area. Only parade entries will be allowed in the staging area. All parade participants and entry supporters must park elsewhere and walk into the staging area due to limited space.

  7. Parade Order: The order of the parade is at the discretion of parade officials and may be determined by order of arrival.

  8. Parade Flow: All entries must be forward-moving and always keep a tractor’s length distance between you and the entry ahead. Parade officials will help regulate this.

  9. Only support animals are allowed and must be tethered.

  10. Judging: All entries will be judged Best of Parade, Best Restoration and Most Fun. The decision of the parade judges is final.

  11. Fire Safety: A fire extinguisher must be present on every tractor, farm vehicle, or implement.

  12. Smoking, Alcohol & Firearms: No smoking or alcoholic beverages are allowed on any parade entry at any time on the parade route or in the staging area. No firearms are permitted.

  13. Right of Refusal: The parade committee reserves the right to refuse or remove any entry, which in their opinion does not conform to parade rules.

  14. Cancellations: Rain or snow – the parade will go on. In the event of extreme weather, the parade will be canceled. Cancellation notifications will be available after 7:00 a.m. on parade day. The local radio station will be notified of cancellation and entrants will be notified by email or text.

Waiver, Release & Indemnification Agreement In consideration of the privilege of participating in the event, I/we grant to the Corazon de Trinidad Creative District and the City of Trinidad Inc. its successors, and assigns, the right to record, broadcast, and otherwise exploit in any media throughout the world, my performance in the event and to use my name, likeness, voice, and biographical information concerning me in connection with promotion of the Tractor Trek Parade and affiliated events. I/We further grant the use of the above for video and photo documentation and media purposes. I/We relinquish all future television, video, and photographic rights by virtue of our appearance. For the same consideration, I/we assume all risks associated with participation in the parade, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, I hereby agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless all of the following, who is hereafter called “the indemnified parties” namely the Corazon de Trinidad Creative District and the City of Trinidad, all of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, successor, assigns, sponsors, members, and volunteer workers from and against all and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising out of my participation in the parade, including without limitation, any personal injuries or damage to my personal property which I may occur as a result of participation in the Tractor Trek Tractor Parade. It is further understood that we/I are to furnish my own insurance in case of injury. I/We also agree to and shall indemnify and hold harmless all of the indemnified parties from and against all claims, losses, damages, causes of action, suits, and liability of every kind including expense of litigation, court costs, and attorney’s fees for injury to or death of any person for damage to any property arising out of or in connection to the Tractor Trek Tractor Parade or associated events the day of the parade, whether such injury, death or damages are caused by the sole negligence of the indemnified parties or the joint negligence of the indemnified parties and any other person or entity. I/We agree that this Waiver, Release, and Indemnification Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and that the venue for litigation involving the indemnified parties shall be in a court of competent jurisdiction in Las Animas County Colorado. The ultimate responsibility for safety lies with each parade entry. Entries must comply with all the Official Parade Rules and implement relevant government regulations, safety codes, manufacturer’s recommendations, and similar standards necessary to operate tractors, floats, and equipment safely. I/We hereby understand and agree to accept all risk of bodily injury and/or property damage which I/we may incur or cause a third party to incur as a result of my/our participation in the Tractor Trek Tractor Parade. This Waiver, Release, and Indemnification Agreement and the Parade Rules have been thoroughly read and understood and are given in consideration of the privilege to participate in the Tractor Trek Tractor Parade. This Waiver, Release, and Indemnification Agreement have been executed by the undersigned, who has the authority to represent. Your signature indicates that you have read and understand the information presented on this form and that your entity agrees to comply with all rules established for this event.
