Living in the End Times
Crystal Rose
Poetry
This poem reflects feelings from the pandemic as words from my heart that have been translated through my head.
Living in the End Times
A virus
A virus has torn the world open
As mother earth has bled
We now bleed
Unable to touch
To feel
The warmth of a loved one’s affection
This chaos, undoing, and panic
No evidence of light
At the end of our tunnel
But
Hold on
Have you held yourself tightly?
Or did you ignore the screaming
That sits
Deep
Deep
Down
Loneliness as you quarantine
Doesn’t have to be
At the forefront of your mind
Stretch,
breathe
and bathe
Release what the media
Has fed you for dinner
Take caution
Choose love
Take caution
Choose light
Sit with yourself in the quiet
For the veil will uncover itself soon
